Hyori is the youngest daughter of her family. Having a stunning natural beauty, she was discovered while taking pictures with her friends at a photobooth. She was trained under Daesung Entertainment. They assigned her as the leader of a girl-group called Fin.K.L. which stood for Fine Killing Liberty. The other members included Ock Joo Hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yuri. The group became incredibly popular in South Korea, and Hyori was the most famous out of their group due to her amazing looks. When Fin.K.L. disbanded, Hyori became a solo artist. Year of Hyori Hyori also went on to do a few drama series, most notably, Three Leaf Clover in 2003. Dark Angel Era After a three year hiatus, in 2006 Hyori released her second album entitled Dark Angel. Due to a plagiarism accusation of her single, "Get Ya," the album was not successful. A US company claimed that the single plagiarized off Britney Spear's "Do Something." She also stopped promotions for the album shortly after these controversies came up. Hyorish It's Hyorish is Hyori's third album. Before producing the album, Hyori switched management companies to Mnet media. She signed a three-year contract for ?2.2 billion, which gave her the title of the highest paid South Korean female singer. She also played a role in a short series entitled If In Love... Like them alongside Lee Dong Gun. Her album was released on July 16th, 2008, and her single "U-go-girl" topped several digital charts. |
